Best fronds

A fairly lazy day, mixed with feeling awful.  After hauling up loads of seeding dandelions from the garden and after lunch I was all for going back to bed.  I really nearly did.  Instead I fed my neighbour's cats, since my neighbour is poorly, and then mended a flat tyre, pulling out a thorn that was over half an inch long.  Repairs done I cycled out to the shops for some touch-up paint, spending ages trying to find a matching shade.

I rode to the Bush estate afterwards, doing a lap through the trees and trying to be at one with nature, finally saying hello again to the enormous Giant Sequoia.  I had always presumed it to be such, then remembered lovely bestie's photographs of leaves, showing the difference between a Sequoia and its cousin, the Dawn Redwood.  It's definitely a sequoia.  In the storms a few weeks back the tree lost one of its big branches, although given its age I daresay it has seen it all before.

My not-exactly entry for 'vintage' in this month's Mono Monday challenge hosted by DonMac21.
