Victory Party
The day started very chilly, but by late afternoon it had warmed up considerably and I went for a lovely walk in the sunshine.
However, given that today marked the start of the VE Day 80th anniversary celebrations, I have chosen to use this shot of the window display in the Co-op Store at Chapel Stile rather than use any of the shots from my walk.
Jeremy, the manager of the shop, told me that the display was created by Gwen, one of his part-time staff members. I think it’s a terrific effort for a small village shop.
Jeremy is famous in these parts for the humorous chalkboard signs he puts outside the shop, one of which I have included in extras, although I confess it wasn’t taken today.
