In WW2 …Belgium 1944..my mother in law.

Because of all the VE Day celebrations I decided to get out some of the things we have from my in laws who both signed up and actually met during the war . This photo I only found today…my mother in law, K J M, was a theatre sister in Scotland before the war. She signed up and was in the Queen Alexandra’s nursing corps. She was serving in Belgium treating wounded soldiers in 1944…this was in Eecloo Belgium. In 1945 when the war ended she was one of the nurses who went to help release those from the Belsen concentration camp - a very harrowing experience a which she did not talk about. After the war she continued to be a theatre sister until her retirement. The extra shows her medal.

Such a cold day that I changed my plans to indoor activities including watching the celebrations on TV ! We had a big shower so I did not go to the allotment for watering! So chilly I put the CHeating on for a bit.
