It’s not a bank holiday here, ours is on Thursday, so we were up and out for early eye tests this morning. In the few years since I’ve set foot in an ophthalmologists office, it’s all become computerised, so I sat in the chair which went up and down as three machines whizzed around me taking my pressures, photographing my retinas and working out my eyesight shortcomings.
There is no putting on glasses and slotting different lenses in any more! It all took ten minutes, and a report will be sent together with a prescription within the week.
We went home to watch the parades and fly past on tv from London, and resume weeding.
