A Dip In Temperature
It's been considerably cooler today than it was last week and I decided to put the fire on, for the first time in many weeks (it's not been cold enough to really need it on).
Its Liberation Day Bevrijdingsdag. 80 years since the end of the Second World War in Europe, also known as Victory in Europe Day (VE Day). 80 years ago, Nazi Germany's armed forces unconditionally surrounded to the Allies and brought an end to the war in Europe. The end to the world war wouldn't come into effect until the Japanese surrender in August 1945.
I wasn't sure what the public transport system would be like today as its a public holiday. The bus company that serves Driebruggen doesn't operate through the village on weekends and public holidays and despite what the website said, I doubted today would be different. So we stayed home and enjoyed our last day before Little Man's return to nursery in the morning.
