Rowe Street Church
During the morning, I spent some more time clearing nettles and bracken from the ditch. W did some baking - blondies (white chocolate brownies) and flapjack - yummie.
In the evening we went to a concert - Wexford Sinfonia. Starting with an overture by Mendelssohn that was new to me. The main feature was a Bach Concerto for oboe and violin, with two former members, Grace (oboe) and Katie (violin) Mercer, sisters from a Wexford family, who are now studying at the Royal Irish Academy of Music.
This was followed by a symphony by Kurt Weill. The conductor admitted he had never heard it before looking for something suitable to play in this concert. He and the orchestra had been surprised by it, and enjoyed learning it together.
It was quite a short, but very enjoyable concert.
The Rowe Street Church (aka The Church of the Immaculate Conception) is the pair of the one I blipped the outside of a couple of weeks ago.
