Allotment, allotment, allotment
Making the most of being home alone, nice weather and a non-marking period, so first at the allotment this morning.
The pond we created just over a year ago is really taking off. We have a good population of tadpoles that are growing well and the plants are all taking off too. :-)
I have started clearing the central block of the allotment and with help I consolidated the leaf mould collection into a composting area and then added a few more grass cuttings mulch for the potatoes - they are still growing through. After a break at home in the afternoon, I headed back with more protective gear to tackle the nettles. These are now all pulled up and cut up in one of the old wormeries ready to make nettle soup for the other plants.
A good days work, now just need to cream the spots where the nettles got through my gloves and sleeves.
