A Lot Of Ground To Cover!
Sorry about all the wall shots in the collage today, but we had a lot of ground to cover in this week's part of the story from the book of Ruth. We came together to worship and praise God for loving us and working in our lives to draw us and all who will accept Him by grace through faith, closer to Him. We began our service with a congregational song to help unite our hearts and help us focus on God, Who is worthy of our praise. After the welcome from Pastor Wes, the choir, orchestra and all our talented accompanists presented a joyful, worshipful rendition of the anthem, "Holy Forever" which was followed by more congregational singing. When we had finished singing, Pastor Wes turned our attention to Ruth 1:6-22 to talk to us about what we see in this book of the Bible concerning God's providential work in our lives. First, we need to return to the place where God is at work and not be dissuaded by things which might seem pleasurable for the moment, but might distract us from something that God wants us to do. The second thing involves lamenting to the One that can help us in challenging or troubled times which we all will face----we still need to seek and pray for guidance for ourselves and for others around us and trust in the lovingkindness of God as we demonstrate it to those that we come into contact with. The last thing we need to remember is to cling only to God for it is He who brings us through the ups and downs of our lives, though we may not understand all the ways He leads us, we must trust that whatever he orchestrates or allows to happen is ultimately for our good, Pastor Wes said it much better in the Live-stream which would be a good investment of your time. At the end of the service, we were blessed to see and participate in a sweet time of Parent-Child Dedication for three precious little ones......
