The garden is clear!
Dad has done a cracking job in the garden these last two days. The weed infested corner is now a new bed waiting for me to transplant the plants that have been in temporary accomodations since last year. And by some miracle, dad has also weeded the entire back garden which is a feat I'm still not sure how he's completed in such a short time.
I joined him today and had the initially more fun jobs of planting out the peas and the lettuce. Then it was weeding the veg beds, but most of the day was spent sorting the huge pile of gravel, trying to extract the nice purple slate that was mixed into the old bed under the tree. I took it out of that bed the summer before last and the pile of gravel has been staring at me ever since. After probably around 4 hours of sorting today the pile still exists but is significantly smaller. The garden is now looking tons better, so thanks dad!
We all ended the day with some huge portions of food at the Tillie Bar and Bistro, and were all somewhat captivated by the antics of 99 to Beat on the tv in the bar. The gobstopper challenge looked like my idea of hell, and we were all somewhat entranced by the Henry vaccum cleanr curling. They really will put anything on TV these days.
