Current knitting project

It was a dismal day today, raining virtually all day, with falling temperatures., so it was a day for inside activities such as my current knitting project, a personal one, rather than for the knitting ministry group I am part of. This is a baby blanket for Roger’s nephew Matthew and his wife Clare who are expecting their first baby. They’re not revealing the sex of the baby, so I am using this pretty pastel variegated yarn. It’s a more complicated pattern than I've done in a while, and not being an expert knitter, it took me some time to get into it, having to unpick several rows in the first few inches, till I could see the pattern forming which made it easier! I’ve put an extra showing the pattern in more detail. The pattern is called broken squares.
