31 Years Young

It was my beau's birthday today, and an excellent day was had by all. I began the day with a treasure hunt leading him to his present of a Bob Dylan ticket via a copy of The Grapes of Wrath. We were then joined by my Mum and Clare for breakfast before us three 'youngsters' (as Mum calls us), head off for a road trip to Southwold. We had a brilliant few hours with picnic, tour and tasting session in the Adnams Brewery, ice cream and a play on the homemade arcade games on the pier. We ate birthday cake on the beach during a stop off in Dunwich on the way home, and went for a swim in the sea, which was much colder than I'd been expecting! A jellyfish floated past, and I was doing well trying not to think about potential fish, until my arm bashed in to something solid and I ran out the water. We sat wrapped in towels and throwing stones until we inevitably had to leave. I could have stayed there for hours. When we got home, we warmed up with a cup of tea before waving Clare off, and then met some friends down on the Quay for chips and beers. It was a chilly evening that felt like Autumn was in the air. We topped off a brilliant day staring up at the amazingly clear skies, watching shooting stars in the Perseid meteor shower. Happy Birthday Greg!
