The Admiral Benbow
We drove to west Cornwall with traffic much lighter than we feared. We are renting a lovely quirky 18th century ex fisherman's cottage which will get blipped before we leave.
My blip is of the Admiral Benbow pub in Penzance with it's smuggler sculpture on the rooftop. Information here. It dates from 1695 and was a den for smugglers and pirates. It's said to be the inspiration for Robert Louis Stevenson's Treasure Island. There are lots of nautical artifacts inside too. We haven't been there on this visit yet but have done in the past and will visit this holiday too.
