Henry Explores Paisley Abbey
As soon as we entered the abbey, Henry spotted Mr. and Mrs. Mouse. Your task was to find their six children so off he went on a mouse hunt. (He found them all.) He used his wee selfie stick in the cloister garden and then donned his monks robes to stroll the cloister where, in the 12th. century the monks would walk before they were kicked out by Henry VIII during the Reformation. (Henry said he would NEVER do such a thing!) He wanted a closer look at the famous alien gargoyle created in 1990 to replace the damaged one. He thought a wee croissant would cheer him up. Finally, he found a bishop’s crook to pose in the nave with. He comes well prepared for these photo shoots! I’ve added another collage which shows the outside of the abbey and the grave of King Robert III, the grandson of Robert the Bruce. Paisley Abbey is called the “cradle of the Steward kings of Scotland “. A lovely lunch with my friend, his wife, unfortunately couldn’t join us, and then the train back to Glasgow. Tomorrow I head northeast to the city of Aberdeen and the adventure continues.
