Sky High

There was a lot going on far above our heads today in Quartermile. It was so far above our heads that it was painful on the neck to look up. I think the workmen must have been replacing or mending something at roof level, but it was hard to see, not that that stopped people trying.

I might have stayed to watch but I had other fish to fry this morning. I had the offer from daughter#1 who had the loan of a car for the morning to go to IKEA with her. I dare anyone to pay a visit to that store and not come away with at least one thing they never knew they needed.  Unfortunately I came  away with  6 things. The psychology of what happens to one’s brain on traversing through all the room settings is very interesting. The only thing that was possibly more needed than say the plastic hang dryer was the set of 4 wine glasses. We also had 2 children’s breakfast for £1.60 each and 2 cups of coffee once we worked out how to scan the bill and get the coffee machine to work. All in all it was an unusual Saturday morning but a most enjoyable outing.

It was a warm sunny morning but has turned into a warm cloudy afternoon. I have ditched idea of having some wine in one of my new wine glasses for a thirst quenching tumbler of cider - thirsty work splashing the cash.
