Road block
(3/5/25)
Where to start with this day, except I've avoided blipping it.
We were in Immigration at 7:30 AM when they opened and out thirty minutes later. We met with the Manager as we were told to do, and it did not go well. A new rule issued recently requires companies to have bank accounts in the company's name. You now need to show six months of statements when renewing your residency visa. No notice was given to prepare, but it is being strictly adhered to. The Manager gave one suggestion to get around the problem, which is to cancel my current visa and apply for a new one with a different profession, but that will bring a host of other problems, one of which will make it impossible for me to be here.
When we came home, I called the local agent's office to see if they could help. G went out to visit the family of a 4get-me-not member who recently passed away. I worked through the day, waiting to hear back. There is a chance the problem can be solved, but we have to wait until tomorrow. To keep my brain occupied, I spent the evening doing the ironing that I didn't get to on the weekend.
This bench in the garden looked inviting, a place to sit and contemplate life. However, it is too hot outside. So much so that the NCM has issued a warning asking people not to go outdoors from 10 AM to 3 PM from 29 April to 5 May and to take precautions to avoid dehydration. They expect temperatures to be between 47 and 55 degrees Celsius.
