What?? Already??

This sign was outside one of the restaurants on the Brayford. It doesn't seem 5 minutes since last Christmas, does it? Do we really have to start thinking about it again already? I'm sure they will get bookings, as people will be afraid of leaving it too late and not getting the reservation they want, but I don't think it would harm their trade if they waited just a little longer before shaking tinsel in our faces! No doubt once the kids go back to school in a few weeks holly trimmed boxes of mince pies will start to appear on the Supermarket shelves again too! Why are we encouraged to wish our lives away in this manner?
