Stevenage
A long trek down to Stevenage today! Steps at Trafford centre for petrol and Rugby Service station for a bite to eat! Then we were at our son’s house and a brief visit but only our grandson was there. On to our destination! The roads were bordered with horse chestnuts in full flower majestic with all their candles! And so much hawthorn so beautiful! Traffic not too bad!
Walking to Wagamama’s for food we crossed the station by a passageway/bridge and the sides were decorated with so many people and art linked with Stevenage!
I especially loved Henry Moore’s sculpture of A Family. I had no idea it originated here!
“Family Group was Moore’s first larger scale bronze sculpture. Originally designed for a school in Stevenage, the piece has been seen as symbolising aspects of the values of the post-war era of austerity and reconstruction.”
