Flower Friday - Pink Aster (?)

I think this is some variety of Aster. There were three of them in a bouquet of pretty flowers which my sister gave me at Easter, so they have lasted well.

Yet another very early start to be ready by the time Lee the decorator arrived at 8.15am. He sanded down the repairs he had made to the walls and gave everything a second coat of paint. As he worked in silence, I was able to settle down to several hours of admin and paperwork in peace - mainly church stuff dealing with brass memorial plaques and organising for new entries to be written in italics into the Book of Remembrance. When I spoke to the gentleman who comes to the church office to do this, he said he was about to go on holiday! I’ve given him my number, and he’ll call when he gets back. I also organised a date for the remaining two pine wardrobes to be collected by a local hospice charity, and got delivery and installation dates from the Wren bedroom designer for the new fitted wardrobes.

After a cup of tea and a chat, Lee finished the painting and cleared up. He has done a great job with zero mess, and I’m really pleased - the room looks so fresh and light. Although it’s wonderful that he and Liz are setting off on a travelling adventure at the end of May, I am sad to lose a first class hairdresser and a first class painter and decorator all in one go! They’re a fabulous couple, and I know they will be a success with whatever they do in the future.

Worn out by the two early starts and all the organising that I spent so much time doing today, I abandoned my plan to do a bit of work in the garden and fell asleep on the sofa for the rest of the afternoon!
