Thriller
I am not usually interested in hockey, but this spring the local league team SaiPa has exceeded all expectations and is now playing for the Finnish championship against the Kalpa league team from Kuopio. Neither team has ever won the Finnish championship before. Tonight's match was played in Kuopio and tomorrow the teams will meet here in Lappeenranta.
The whole of Lappeenranta is dressed in yellow and black, which is the team's color and the city administration and companies have set up large screens and stands in the squares where people can come together to watch the matches, because the local icehall have space only 4,820 people. Also, away matches - like today - gather thousands of people to watch the matches together, no matter what the weather.
This collective hype has been surprisingly catch me on as well as some of my friends, whom neither has been interest of hockey. Today local team won 4-2 and the game was a real thriller to the last second. My adrenaline level at the moment is also too high for sleep....strange...very strange.
