Thank you!

Hello everyone, and thanks a million from me and P for your outpouring of support on the news of our engagement. We’re really feeling the love!

All of which makes it particularly difficult to share some much less welcome news.

Cutting to the chase… I’ve not been feeling ‘quite right’ for a little while now and have been having a series of medical tests over the last few weeks which have finally, this week, led to a cancer diagnosis. There are still more tests to be done over the next few days before I have a full picture of what’s going on but in the meantime there’s a lot for P, my family, and me to get our heads around. And, of course, it’s all very scary.

P and I now intend to get married sooner rather than later, in a rather scaled back ceremony, and then get down to the business of dealing with whatever the coming months bring. We hope that there’ll be time to celebrate properly further down the line.

I’m sure this will be a shock to all my blip buddies, as it’s been to me, and I’m sorry to have to share it so soon after such happy news, but I want to be upfront with you all about what’s going on. Apologies for not responding to everyone’s messages - I’m definitely reading them all.
