The Insects Are Taking Over The World...
I don't know if it's the same everywhere but Lincoln seems to have a plague of greenfly. The air is alive with the annoying little things, especially around the Arboretum where I walked earlier. Even from our house I can see them catching the sunlight, though there are not so many, thank Goodness!
When my dad was alive he hated them with a vengeance, as he said they ate most of what he planted. I'm not the biggest fan of them but I think they must serve some useful function in the ecosystem of the planet.
I've had a pretty relaxed day, with some yoga, reading, watching YouTube stuff, being a cat bed until he decided it was too hot to be on my lap and just general pottering about.
This afternoon I went for a walk though. I needed to find a Blip and I have to get exercise every day now. So I went round the park and out at the top, then walked up to Bailgate, around the Cathedral area and then home through the park again. I bought a coffee from the Coop and was going to drink it in the park, but the insects were too much and I ended up coming home
This photo of a squirrel is one of the first I took. I ended up having to swap the squirrel shot out. I'd zoomed in too much on my phone and it looked very weird. So here's one of the last shots I took, in the Dean's Garden by the Cathedral. I'm not entirely happy with it either but it is better than the squirrel one!
Now I'm waiting for Brian to pick me up to go and buy plants for the hanging baskets from B&M. I'd have walked if I hadn't only just got home.
