... was the cynical snail in the children's programme The Magic Roundabout.

The show started in 1965 and, as a child, I remember watching it with my father who usually returned from work when it was on. It lasted for around 5 minutes and always ended with Zebedee going "boing" on his spring and saying "time for bed", Florence would then say "already?".

Dad would then gather up my sister and I and it would be off upstairs for bath and bed.
