Siskin

I planned to go to Sanday but the forecast was for 23mph westerlies by the early afternoon, so not great for the bike (ebike or not). But I did go and just didn't try to cover as much ground as usual. This was providential because by the time I was having coffee on the pier at Kettletoft at 12.30, the wind was up to 27mph. So I was back in the waiting room at the ferry slip with 2 hours to spare, but it works well as a hide and I saw two bonxies and a glimpse of an otter! Siskins are not common in Orkney and the two I saw at Stove were a first Sanday tick for me. Other birds- 180+ sanderling, 160+ dunlin, sandwich terns, wheatears, great northern divers etc.
