Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
I was in Norwich today for the theatre. Before leaving I voted in the local election, then in Norwich I visited the cathedral and did some successful clothes shopping. It was sooooo hot and sunny at c28C! I stayed out of the sun and in the shade, but it was still a bit much. The production of Joseph was a bit different as it played up the comedy side and included several kids in the roles - initially I wasn’t so keen but it grew on me as there were excellent performances by Adam Filipe as Joseph and Christina Bianco as the Narrator and it had lots of energy. The boy who played Potiphar was brilliant, a star in the making (although it grated having a boy playing the role with his ‘wife’ played by the Narrator seducing Joseph on stage at the same time). Overall it was great fun and the five rows of young kids in the rows behind the row behind me were so well behaved and completely entranced. I could have done without the ‘man-spreader’ sitting next to me though!!! Unusually we were allowed to take photos during the ‘mega mix’ at the end of the show. My car was an oven when I got back to the park and ride (great new electric buses). When I got home I had to clean the windscreen, number plate and cameras as they were covered in splatted bugs!
