Cute coot.

We did a mixed road/trail ride, and came across a coot family and young who seemed very much at home on a picture perfect village pond.
1st. extra:  An equally idyllic village pond, this time with a resident heron.
2nd. extra:  The remains of Magpie Mine, an 18th. century lead mine.
