Bullers of Buchan #2

Returned to the Bullers of Buchan again today having been buoyed by last week’s visit when I saw a fair number of puffins on the cliffs.  Most years the small colony that ‘nests’ here is around the 35-45 mark.  Today, at a rough count, I spotted over 50!

Much to my delight I saw a pair who were showing how happy they were to be back together for the breeding season.  Even better I managed to capture a tender moment that they shared together.  Puffins show their affection for one another by tapping their bills together.

I hope you like this set of pictures.  As Donny Osmond might have sung … ‘and they called it puffin love!’
