Bowood Woodland Gardens (Thursday 1 May 2025)
I belatedly realised that my RHS membership gets me into Bowood's Woodland Gardens, which is open until 1st June this year, and so I visited it this afternoon, after voting in Calne.
It was quite busy, and the hills are steeper than they were. I bought a Sam Wedge's Dagwood baguette in Calne and had a picnic in the Jubilee Gardens of Bowood Woodland Gardens (see Extra) before touring the grounds. As the bluebells have been out for awhile they took photographic precedence over the other plants (predominantly rhododendrons and azaleas).

The Exciters - There They Go (recorded 24 March 1965, New York NY)
This week I watched the documentary film Bang - The Bert Berns Story, and immediately afterwards I ordered the CD The Bert Berns Story Vol. 3: Hang On Sloopy (I already had Vols. 1 & 2). Bert Berns wrote and produced Here Comes The Night first for Lulu and then for Them, but until now I never knew he'd revisited it with the Exciters (under a new title).
