Forde Abbey
Up early and I'd been to the local market (where I bought some lovely bedding plants), put my X in the box at the Village Hall, and was back home by 8:30am.
I had just eaten my breakfast when a friend messaged me to see if I wanted to visit Forde Abbey, a couple of miles away. I was about to say "no " when I thought "why not?" So rearranged a couple of things and off we went. We bought a light lunch in the café there before the crowds started to queue, then enjoyed a wander round the beautiful gardens before the heat became too much and we went home. We spotted a herd of what we think (the lady I was with is a farmer's daughter but we weren't positive about the ID) are Devon Red cattle in an adjoining field - mothers, youngsters, and a bull too! See some in extra.
I actually took a "proper camera" with me too. First time I've used it in around a year or so.
Village Show Committee Meeting this evening and I'm hosting it at my house so I'd better go and make the place look respectable!
