La vida de Annie

Visit to the doctor today for results of my x-ray. It looks like osteoarthritis, common in someone of my advanced age, and nothing much can be done to improve it, certainly not a hip replacement. She suggested cold packs or gel, which I have used already to no great effect, and when my supportive other half questioned whether a steroid injection would help, she said it might. I was expecting to be referred back to the hospital, or given a nurse's appointment for that, but she breezily said I can do that now if you want. Taken by surprise, I readily agreed. I never used to have a fear of needles, although all the drips and canula business linked with my broken leg and head year did shake that somewhat, and when she brought out the fattest longest needle I nearly chickened out. I can't say it didn't hurt, but the wound was more to my pride when OH took a photo of the doc administering it with my skirt up round my waist. "For Blip" he said. Absolutely not - here's a pic of her computer screen instead showing my shapely hip without skin.
