Spotted catsear

D left early for the boat and I went up to the allotment early to water the seedlings. Some were drooping already, last watered on Tuesday. I didn't have any actual birdseed, so left them a few chunks of stale bread. I don't suppose they were impressed.

Was very pleased to see my very own spotted catsear flowering - here's its parent on Prospect Bank. I'm always slightly anxious that when the council scrape the weeds they'll finish it off, but it always seems to pop up again, like the dandelions. (You can see what a thorough job they do in the extra to this blip)!
