Princesses and pirates. Again. Sigh.

I always like seeing the new stuff in the window at this shop. A lot of it is really cute. Today they had these picture stools they're doing... there were four of them, in alternating "boy" and "girl" themes. Pink ballet shoes, pirate ship, Little Princess, rocket ship. Depressing.

I hope lots of little girls would go for the rocket ship, y'know? But that was obviously not the intention. And then you get into the kind of bias you see in kids books, where most are written with male main characters because girls and boys will both read those, but only girls will read something with a female main character.

Just once I would like to come across a fancy "Little Prince" product for a boy, is all I'm saying.
