Abstract Crocs on Thursday
This is my collection of Crocs; including two pairs that arrived yesterday courtesy of My UK address. You people on the mainland can’t believe the trouble I have buying Crocs because I can’t find anyone who will ship Crocs over here. Amazon send most things here (and deduct the VAT) but for some unfathomable reason they won’t send Crocs and neither will Crocs UK. We do have a branch of Shuh but they have a very limited choice. I particularly wanted a pair of orange zing Crocs; not that I have anything that even vaguely matches orange (look out clothes shops!) and a pair of lined ones.
I was tearing my hair out wondering who had a friend or relative that I could get them sent to and then arrange for them to get over here. But Sue, keep your hair on; Guernsey Post have recently set up My UK address to solve just that problem.
I immediately registered and sent off my order for the coveted Crocs. Seven days later (yesterday) my parcel was delivered by Guernsey Post. Crocs UK had sent them to an industrial estate in Portsmouth and Guernsey Post arranged to get it over here. Cost? £4.95; what a bargain! And I still have my hair which leads me on to phrases of the day…
‘Tearing’ your hair out likely originates from people who observed those with trichotillomania or compulsive hair pulling, which has been reported as far back as ancient Greece.
And ‘keep your hair on’ is believed to have originated from the idea of someone becoming so agitated or upset that their hair appears disheveled or stands on end.
