Shiny pendant
Tuesday
The day started quite bright, but clouds were expected to move in later in the day. I thought I would take care my blip fairly early on, and for the a tiny Tuesday theme of something shiny, I looked through my jewelry box to see what would fit the bill. This pendant isn’t anything valuable, just costume jewelry, but I’ve had it quite a while and still like it. The scarf I used as a backdrop also has sparkly thread running through it, though that doesn’t really show up in the photograph.
The Accuweather forecast we use on our phones didn’t show any rain coming in until late afternoon, so we decided to risk a bike ride, starting from Loveland, and heading south for a change toward Milford. However, when we turned around, after 6 miles, we thought it was getting darker, so we checked the radar, and that showed a thunderstorm approaching us, not to far off. As it happens, we had just passed The Trailyard, a casual pub/restaurant, right by the bike trail, so we decided to play it safe, and stop there for some lunch until the storm had passed. I had been wanting to go back there to eat sometime, but I had been envisioning a nice sunny day, and eating outside in their extensive outdoor area! Instead, we sat inside. The storm took longer to reach us than we thought, and didn’t last that long, but we would have got rather wet! We were waiting for our lunch quite a while, which didn’t really bother us, since we weren’t in a hurry to leave. We heard quite a loud crash at one point -I think they’d had a bit of a disaster in the kitchen! Eventually we continued on our return leg, without any more rain, though of course the trail was wet, and numerous streams which the trail passes over, which we hadn’t really noticed on the outward leg, were flowing more visibly and audibly!
About 4 or 5 pm the storms returned and continued on and off through the evening, but fortunately nothing too serious.
