Frothing

A hot day for April so Merlin and I had an early walk. It was beautiful in the meadow. The hawthorn bushes are in full bloom and their creamy flowers fill the hedgerows. It’s one of my favourite sights of spring. As we walked a white throat sang.

I had planned to work at the allotment today but it was too warm so instead I spent time in the garden planting some young perennial plants into pots to grow on. I also spent time moving all my seedlings and young plants onto some shelves in a shaded area of the garden to avoid them getting too hot. This afternoon I did a few indoor jobs and listened to an audiobook until I walked Merlin. We stayed in the shade and ended up at the stream so he could lie in the cold water and cool down. This evening we’ve walked to the allotment to water the young plants, harvest asparagus and spinach. Now it’s time to sit down for a few hours.

Meanwhile in Nottingham, Andy has been doing some DIY for his uncle and together they also played a round of golf. Merlin is missing Andy and is currently asleep in his spot in the sofa.

Wishing you a pleasant evening.
