It’s the simple ideas …
that are often most effective. A cheap parasol that catches the light and voila, the bottom of the garden radiates colour and warmth.
I had a busy day with a mixture of baby minding, cleaning, gardening and cooking. Plus I’m bad with the heat (it was 27 degrees) so pacing myself was important. I also have to remember to wear my sunglasses (the optician says bright light hastens the onset of cataracts) - which is fine as I look gangsta in shades, know what I mean bruv.
Finished two books today - London Calling by Barry Miles, which is a visceral history of bad boys and girls in the fringe arts and music scene in the capital post WW2, and Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult - an excellent unpicking of a mass shooting in a New Hampshire school. Some very good characters and a delicate exploration of how things are never quite as they seem when emotions run high.
Apparently tomorrow is set to be even warmer than today.
