Cairn bluebells

Up early this morning, for Gaz and his mate to come and strip out our little toilet room - ready for redecoration.  They did a good job and kept the mess to a minimum.  The wall next to our bathroom was predictably a bit damp (after our shower leak), so we'll leave it for a couple of weeks to dry out, before getting the plasterer and tiler in.

Meanwhile, our new fence was being finished  - I spent much of the day watching shirtless men getting pinker out of my office window.  Ouch.

It was another beautiful day (so warm!), and I got out for a beautiful walk at the Cairn after work.  Really magical in there with the evening light playing on the bluebells.  Up near Cherry Tree Glade, I could hear someone playing guitar and singing too.  Lovely.

Some sad news from Tim's Mum and brother today - they had to have their dear dog, Stan, put to sleep.  He was quite elderly and was getting very confused and distressed, and very thin, too.  Poor old Stan.  Definitely the kindest thing.

Tim and I spent a lovely evening sitting out in the summer house, with some of his chilled homemade white wine.  So lovely watching the bats and the gentle sunset, and staying out there until it got dark.
