Windy Post

I decided to go on a jaunt today. I made myself a packed lunch and set off for West Dartmoor. Driving near Princetown I caught sight of something that surprised me. I pulled in and got out of the car and saw I was correct, it was a Red Kite. I know that where you live they're as common as muck but we don't get them down in the south west. I tried to get a picture but failed miserably, I just couldn't get focus on it. I have made a report to Devon Birds and saw that there was another report today about one in Ivybridge. Maybe the same one, that's about 15 miles away.

I parked at the top of Pork Hill and walked down to Windy Post. True to its name, there was a bit of a breeze blowing. Probably a good thing as it would have been fairly hot otherwise. I took some photos and then carried on walking up the hill where I found a sheltered spot to sit and have my lunch.

I've just realised that it's my 4500th today. Thank you to all of you who visit with stars, hearts and comments. I'm hopeless with thanks and replying to comments but I'm always grateful to you. Thank you all.
