Shady Garden Play

Hot, hot, hot.. bad day
for travel!  Overgrown trees
in the garden win :-)

Full on day.. took Ben to school and came back to walk Leo then headed off to Fleetwood with the social worker to check out an autism friendly caravan that they think our carers might be able to bring Ben to, for a little holiday in a few weeks.. very exciting.  Fortunately I like the social worker, so the conversation was easy on the journey plus we had quite a nice time when we got there.  The lady who runs the caravans was amazing, so inspiring, she started the business after having kids with additional needs and struggling to find holidays that suited their family and she has a few caravans set up in different configurations with themed decoration and sensory needs in mind and she provides video walk throughs to share with the children for reducing uncertainty.  It would be a big undertaking for the carers to bring him for a few days but it's given us food for thought and info to help us plan potential itineraries etc.  Watch this space.
Hot though.  Walking around the caravan site was boiling and by the time I got back to Leo I thought it was too hot for another walk so we played in the garden for a bit and I was thankful for my poor gardening skills and overgrown greenery!
Mr KCNQ2Haiku had also arrived back from London at the exact time I pulled on the drive from the caravan, so at that point we sensibly decided to decamp to the local beer garden for a pint and a debrief :-)  Of course that made us tired and sleepy but we were happy, so it was worth it!  Came home, played with the dog a bit more, gave him a frozen licky mat, fed Older Teen, made some salad and now Ben is home and it's the bedtime run.
More probably tomorrow.
