Wonder when I'll stop swiping my work badge here?

This was the designated day for huddling down with a pile of student folders and updating systems. (Students not returning until tomorrow.) We like a day where we can get on with this and have missed the weekly decent chunk of time we used to get on a Friday. (We're told we have the same amount of time, just spread out differently. It doesn't feel like it, though.)

Also for doing some on-line mandatory training which was, um, not engaging my attention so I went to investigate the noises-off to discover the swipe in/out system was finally being removed from this post. It was only made redundant about 6 years ago when the system was extended to enclose what was then a car park and is now where modular classrooms are.

However, for those of us for whom this was a regular entrance/exit point... we never quite lost the habit of scanning in and out here even when the gate was removed about four years ago.

I might need to go back and check it's all a bit safer looking than it was when I took the picture!!
