5 Hours in Oban

We left super early this morning to drive up to Oban where S. has a meeting.
I was wondering how to kill 5 hours in Oban, especially starting before 9am. However after a walk to the end of the prom and back I encountered a Sea Tour departing the North Pier and so impulse bought a ticket and hopped on without knowing where they were going. It headed over to Mull and back - such a calm day, we saw a large pod of porpoise, seals and a sea eagle and a good few castles and lighthouses. Pleasant apart from being crammed in like the London tube amongst unruly French and rude Spanish tourists. The man next to me was a plane enthusiast and spent the whole trip with his eyes on the flight tracking app, giving his wife commentary in what was in the sky. When everyone got excited about the porpoises his wife said’what is that’ and he dismissively said ‘no idea’ and returned his eyes to the phone
