The Summer Triangle

I stepped outside this evening to hang out some washing and see if I could spot any perseids and I did see one. This however is an aeroplane of which there are may flying around this close to Heathrow though this one is passing over at 39,000ft.

The summer triangle asterism as its known is very prominent at the moment with Cygnus being the dominant contellation and slap bang in the middle of the milky way. So plenty to see on a clear night and a pleasure to still only be wearing shorts and a t-shirt this late.
