HOMEWARD BOUND

Im home now - this is a backblip from Monday,

Becky and Mike went out early for a 2 mile run while I looked after Astrid.. We watched Fireman Sam on TV ( Ive watched rather a lot of episodes of Fireman Sam this holiday) When B and M got back we packed everything up, sorted the rubbish out etc and left our lovely AirBnb in Mystic.

We headed to a local diner for breakfast.  I wasn't very hungry and most of the menu choices were different versions of a full breakfast or things with chips so I chose two sides --- some crispy bacon and two sausage patties.  A rather random breakfast but at least I ate it all. Then we headed North to Boston Logan Airport.

Becky wanted to travel along some of the route of the Boston Marathon so we headed for Hopkinton where the race started - then through another 5 towns until we had to leave the route to go to the airport.  We managed to cover around 17 miles of the 26 mile route.  It was nice to see where Becky had been running last Monday. ( The drive today was 140 miles).

We dropped off the hire car near the airport and got the shuttle bus to our terminal.  Our flight was due to leave at 8pm so we had time to have some food and relax before boarding.  The flight was delayed for some reason and was around 40 mins late taking off. ( the pilot did make up some time and we were only 20 mins late arriving at Heathrow on Tuesday morning )

Blip collage show a scene from our departure lounge and the sunset over our American Airlines plane.
