Creative uses for former gas towers
…how about building a circular block of flats inside it?
This is London’s new-ish Granary Square, near St Pancras station and the Regent’s Canal. I spent some time there while waiting for Steve’s friend Ian, a sound engineer, to return from work. I was booked to stay overnight at his flat in Caledonian Road, newly come up in the world. There’s a Pilates studio on the ground floor now!
Ian came back, I went over to meet him, and we had supper and swapped episodes of favourite shows on Apple TV +. He introduced me to The Studio, and I chose episode 1, series 1 of Bad Sisters. (I’ve decided to watch the whole of series 1 again before watching series 2). Ian found it a bit dark in its depiction of coercive control. Eventually I bedded down on Ian’s airbed, and fell asleep almost straight away.
The reason for my being in London is that I’m attending a conference tomorrow on The Psychology of Money. In other news, if I haven’t said it already, I’m coughing a lot. It seems to be the same sort of chesty cough that Steve has had. I worked from home because it’s Not Done to cough in the surgery .
