Sticky dilemma

I was wondering today if these wooden sticks are good or bad. I'd hope they were a better alternative to disposable plastic ones, but surely a metal one that just needs a quick rinse would be better?
Then there's the growing of the trees just for this purpose and whether the composting of the sticks works or is going into landfill anyway.
I may just pull out the teabags with my bare hands from now on and let the walk back to my desk shoogle the cup enough to mix the milk in. Problem solved.
Maybe tomorrow I'll show you my morning coffee, oh the excitement!
