A Different Perspective
I had to drop the car into the garage for them to investigate why it lost power on the motorway last Thursday. It meant I had to find something to do for a few hours so I decided to test my Achilles on a walk into Birmingham. As usual I used the canal network which allowed for some shade along the towpaths as I headed in a south easterly direction.
Frustratingly the ankle started to hurt after a few miles but I ploughed on regardless.
It was very warm in the city, so I found a watering hole and sat in the shade. I had been warned by the garage that they might need the car overnight, so I was waiting for a call so I could choose the appropriate transport either home, or back to the garage. Unfortunately, my options were soon down to one as a broken down freight train had blocked my route home. I called the garage and they were aware that I would have to pick up the car today.
In the end I was told that they had found a number of updates to the software that manages the hybrid system that needed to be applied, which will hopefully mean it won't happen again.
