Queen European Hornet

This giant beastie gave me quite a fright when it flew into the lounge this afternoon. I called in a neighbour who belongs to the local wildlife group to help me confirm its identity before I released it. I wanted to double check it wasn’t an Asian Hornet, a threat to honey bees. It might not look very big in the photo but that’s because I didn’t want to get any closer!

Yet another difficult day, numerous medical phone calls of one sort or another, and a visit from the District Nurse, so wasn’t able to get out and enjoy the beautiful warm sunny day.

Thank you for all your kind stars and hearts for yesterday’s Bath Bun blip, only the second time I’ve tasted a Bath Bun; the first time being when I had a blipmeet with Feather!
