Ye Olde Bell and Steelyard, Woodbridge built 1540 and the 12th oldest pub in England.
The Steelyard overhanging the road is one of only two surviving in situ. It is a cart weighing machine, a forerunner to the weighbridge and was probably added in 1640. With a capacity of three tons it was last known to weigh an item in 1959.
The building is believed to have become an inn between 1827 and 1841, although historians suggest it was one from the 17th century.
