Post-Prandial Proceedings
Ziggy does like to have a wash after his lunch. We had ours (lunch that is, not a wash) in the summerhouse and before he joined us he settled in his favourite spot under the arbour seat amongst the bluebells and attended to cleaning his fur.
There are some new houses being built a short distance away and we had a grandstand view of the roofers fitting battens ready for the tiles to be hung. Their nimble footwork and efficient way of working was impressive (see extra). It must have been very hot up there, the temperature on my car was reading 23 degrees C this afternoon.
I had a busy day in the garden and spent the morning wielding the electric hedge trimmer. We have a number of box hedges/trees which seem to have grown a lot in the last few weeks. They look much neater now, but it was back-breaking work, especially as they are all next to gravel so the area around each plant had to be covered in old compost bags to collect all the cuttings. I was straight indoors for a much-needed shower when it was all done.
