Lemon

A warm summery day. As we walked in the community orchard we noticed the apple blossom is fading, I imagine, spurred on by the recent warmth. In a nearby garden I noticed this lemon coloured magnolia in bloom. I’ve not seen a magnolia this colour before. Its gentle lemon blended so well with the fresh green leaves of the tree.

At lunchtime I popped to the allotment to cut the grass, water seeds and seedlings, and prepare some beds for more young plants. The leeks and leafy greens which have served us so well over winter are now going to seed so I made a start on digging them up and bringing home anything decent to be used or stored in the freezer.
