Alphorn

I joined the little known branch of Cumbrian alphorn players today … sadly in plastic though.
Then I fitted the slimline water butt to the shed gutter. It took me ages to pluck up the courage to hack through the gutter to connect the diverter. I didn’t have a holesaw drill bit but rooted around in P’s old toolbox and, bless his cotton socks, I found a bit that effectively did the job.
After all that excitement I went to post Leonardo’s birthday card and to find some bluebells. I was glad it’s been as dry as it has and I’m glad I had the OS map of the area on my phone, otherwise I’d have been lost on rough moorland near Murton. The sky was full of the song of skylarks, curlew and lapwings.
